What Does the Zodiac Scorpio Symbolize?

Scorpio is the eighth zodiac sign (October 23–November 21), and the scorpion is its symbol. Scorpio (or Vrishchika in Vedic astrology) is a fixed water sign ruled by Pluto in contemporary astrology and Mars in ancient astrology. Its energy is strange and secretive.

Scorpionic energy appears calm and restrained on the surface, yet it is highly emotional beneath the surface.

We may get a sense of Scorpio’s depths by looking at Pluto, the sign’s ruling planet associated with the underworld, death, and rebirth. When we sense the urge to cross a boundary, investigate profound emotional processes, or find truth by diving deep into the hidden parts of ourselves, we meet with Pluto.

Scorpio is a fixed sign, which means Scorpios, like their opposite sign, Taurus, prefer stability, routines, and home life. Taurus represents the natural world and all that is apparent, whereas Scorpio represents the underworld, or whatever emotions, thoughts, truths, and secrets lurk beneath the surface.

Scorpio is frequently related to astrology’s ninth house, which governs, among other things, sex, death, and rebirth. Scorpios are known for their discretion and even secrecy, giving them a mysterious aura. Fearlessness, bravery (due to Mars), enthusiasm, creativity, and fierce loyalty are other personality traits.

Scorpio’s depth can often cause tunnel vision, and this is a sign that can be a little obnoxious. Scorpio may take a hint from another fixed sign, Aquarius, and zoom out once in a while to gain a bird’s-eye view.

Another significant chance for progress is to let go of things. Scorpios are prone to holding grudges, negative energy, or obsessive thought patterns against those who have mistreated them. Remember that grudges only hurt the person who owns the grievance.

Finally, Scorpios should keep in mind that their friends, partners, and coworkers do not have psychic abilities. They should never forget to express their feelings and explain their emotions. Scorpio, don’t keep all of your secrets to yourself! Allow them to go by letting them out.
