What’s the Story Behind the Christmas Tree?

The beloved royals, Queen Victoria and her German Prince Albert, were depicted with their kids around a Christmas tree in a London newspaper. Unlike the previous royals, Victoria was well-liked by her subjects. What she did at court became trendy almost immediately—not only in Britain but also among fashion-conscious East Coast Americans. The Christmas tree was on its way.
