This bead is painted as a cut slice: green rind, a thin white margin, red flesh dotted with tiny black seeds, the whole palette sealed under a fired glaze. The slightly elongated shape hangs naturally, which is why it keeps ending up in earring drops and as the swinging charm at the end of an anklet.
