The Snake Dance ranks among the oldest ceremonies still practiced in North America — a prayer for rain in country where rain decides everything, performed with live snakes honored as messengers to the spirits of weather. To wear the figure is to nod to that depth of tradition.
The charm measures 3/8" by 7/8" and weighs 2.3 grams. It begins as a wax figure sculpted by hand, encased in plaster, and melted away in a kiln at 1,350 degrees so molten metal can take its place; hand-finishing then lifts the dancer's regalia and posture into bright relief. Made in USA, cast of .925 sterling silver.
