Each piece starts as a hand-sculpted wax model burned out of investment plaster at over 1,640 degrees Fahrenheit, then filled under centrifugal force with molten sterling silver. Afterward, individual filing and progressive polishing stages — rough filing through a final rouge buff — bring out the smooth curve of the bean's surface and the fine detail of its seam. A sterling silver jump ring arrives attached.
