The lost-wax casting process produces the sterling silver base, and enamel is then applied by hand to add color to the architectural details. The Battle of the Alamo in February and March of 1836 saw a small garrison hold out for thirteen days before the final assault, and their stand became the rallying cry — "Remember the Alamo" — that carried the Texas Revolution to victory.
